The Tooth Fairy

I have a brand new tooth. No more metal, no more space, and it is a regular size tooth. Which to me is quite amazing as I never had a regular size tooth in that spot. I was born without permanent teeth in two spots right across from each other. I still have a baby tooth on the left, but this right one abscessed and was pulled when I was about 19. After finding a decent dentist and getting everything repaired with new crowns, he suggested we fill the hole/space with a tooth.

So we put the tooth in this morning. It was not pleasant. Dr. Dentist told me no one else has ever had pain. Then when he showed me the tooth implanted he explained the blood was from the 4 slits in my gums so they could regrow around the implant. WTF. Ever bite your tongue or burn the roof of your mouth with pizza? It hurts a bit. Slicing my gums is bound to cause some pain and I am the only person ever to notice this?

Punkin Head found his old camera and charger so I am back in business as soon as I figure out how to use it. Went shopping and to lunch with The Lady and spent way to much money to look good in China. I found it shocking that everyone including Aldo is copying Toms shoes. Those shoes are quirky and support charity for kids with no shoes and people are buying the copies? They should be shot and sent to Africa with no shoes. Asshats.

Can't watch Chaz and Cher on Dancing With The Stars as Detroit is taking over the channel to broadcast the Lions on Monday Night Football. Feel kinda funny about this. Yes, they are undefeated, but it is early in the season and I am a long time Lions fan. Whenever the Lions get cocky they get their ass handed back to them. This could be embarrassing. I prefer the low key way Michigan just did the job and are also undefeated and back in the polls. Michigan v/s Michigan State would be the game to watch. I will be back in China.

Go Lions.

We made it home

For some reason this trip felt more grueling than usual. We had to sit at the gate for an hour due to ATC, which was no fun. There was a new twist, when we boarded there was a pilot wandering around the plane chatting and helping. He was quite jolly and had a great sense of humor, which just made the flight attendants look more grumpy. Then before the safety spiel he made a speech in each cabin about how Delta appreciated all of us. And of course everyone clapped. Then the captain came on the PA and thanked us all for how quickly we boarded and let them get the door closed ahead of time. We were number 7 in line for takeoff and there we sat.

Big Daddy and I sat apart, we had aisle seats almost across from other. Chaz had the window seat in my row, I know this because he introduced himself upon sitting and never shut up until he left. He left because this Chinese girl came up and showed her ticket and he sent her across the plane and announced that everyone knew seat A was on the other side. That is when I got a chance to speak and told him that no he was indeed sitting in A, by then she was back and the flight attendant was smirking. I know this because I was standing in the aisle so everyone could relocate to their proper seats. Then the 2 Chinese girls asked me to get up again as they wanted to change seats with each other, which meant moving all their stuff around. Why do people bring so much stuff onto airplanes.

I am still batting 1000, my reading light did not work, the screen prompt turned on seat A, and the FA's did not  care. It was hilarious though, the 2 Chinese girls kept trying to shut the light off as it was shining in their faces but I had the controls. I never told them, I just left it on.

My dental appointment was normal. The Dentist wanted an X-ray as I am very tender where the space re-gainer is. They updated all their systems last week and none of the X-ray machines could communicate with the system. So, no X-ray. Anyway, we got through the impressions and I should have a new tooth in 2 weeks. I am not going to miss this hunk of metal in my mouth.

The new neighbor across the street has a sign in the front yard. It is only printed on one side and that side is facing the house. WTF. It would be too obvious to go and look at it, but really what can it say?

Beautiful Weather

Tri-color European Beech tree in my front yard in Michigan

t

The cookie lady's front yard, the only yard she has.

The terrible storms we had sent a lightening strike down in the heart of the city and hit an electrical box, so there is no electricity in the stores. This is sidewalk sale weekend and many stores cannot play, they are dark and closed.

Went to lunch today at the Woodbridge Pub by the Wayne State football field and it was a fun thing to do. Good food, reasonable prices and time spent with Punkin Head. Went to Brooks Brothers for Big Daddy to get some clothes, still needs some shirts but I remembered the handkerchiefs, a must in China with the heat, mop your head equipment.

Thursday we went to Somerset and I got some fat clothes and we had lunch with my BBF, don't I sound just like Paris Hilton, and I saw that even tho I am fat I am not the fattest, by far. And tramps here dress just like Chinese tramps, they will just never be that thin and still have some muscles. I saw one really thin girl with no muscles in her arms and calves and I thought, shit I could snap you like a twig. I do not understand why they think that look is so attractive.

Teeth still hurt pretty bad, I am starting to worry. Rinsing with salt water, don't know if that is a good thing or just an old wives tale. Whatever.

Going to visit MIL tomorrow so I am glad I saved the best pain pills. Just joking but it is a horrible car ride. And I am taking wine. Punkin Head picked out 2 reds, a Tribunal from Sonoma County and one called Los Vascos, a Cabernet from Chile, we will see tomorrow.

Big Daddy has to do steaks Monday as that is the last day I can chew, I am excited.

It just keeps on

Punkin Head's cat, Noir, in real life she has yellow green eyes. She will rub against you but you are not allowed to pick her up. That is a big no-no.

Dental visit went to hell real quick. The area is too raw and angry for work and the dentist is kinda of a DENTAL GOD, he cannot understand why this is painful and then his assistant leaned down and told me he has never has any dental work and therefore does understand pain. And his father pulled his own teeth.

Big Daddy is on the phone to Delta Airlines to schedule me back  to land of propaganda on his flight. They fucked up the flights so they should pay for me to go home, this is of course thinking like a proper government type official. Obama screwed up the Bachorlette on regular television last night with his speech. That pissed me off, we know it is fucked up, get off the TV and fix it.  I have never seen the Bachorlette on a real TV screen before and I was amazed, people look different on a real TV.  My local TV news station people all look like they just returned from filming "Night of the Living Dead", these folks need a skin care regime.

BD leased a new car, Ford Fusion, Grey, and it is okay. Fits and Finish are not a 10 and the seals are an embarrassment. BD likes it and it has some program I cannot spell so that your phone works. As I am here 6 weeks a year and my primary phone is a Chinese piece of shit I am not that enamored of this feature. BD however is ranting about me going to get my phone "cynced", I am more "whatever".

BD cooked soft food for dinner in honor of my dental horrors, trout and fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Also Caprese salad. Could not chew the tomatoes. Best part was talking to Punkin Head and somehow we got on his trips out west for school (middle and upper school), this was part of his Earth Science program. He went to Alaska on one trip and pulled up in front of Caesar's Palace in a yellow school bus on another trip. I am begging him to write a guest post as he is an accomplished writer and much funnier than I am.

Oops, need another antibiotic and pain pill. Talk to you later.

Five days to go until Shanghai

Not counting today and next Tuesday. Big Daddy talked to the Japan dude and I should be ok transferring in Narita. There are Sky Clubs in the terminal and worst comes to worst I can pretend to eat Sushi.

My new suitcase, Briggs and Riley on sale, arrived and I am continuing to pack. Shoes are going to be the problem. Just hate deciding what can I take and what do I need to say goodbye to. I just do not believe that I can buy real clothes and things that I can afford are in China. Or Hong Kong. If I was a guy I could just get shirts made and be happy.

Did last minute shopping as for some reason all the websites were down this holiday weekend and had to pay way to much for the last minute items. Bras. The world revolves around bras for women with breasts. If one more flat chested bitch tells me about buying 7 dollar bras at Target I am going to scream. Scotch tape should work for them. Bought La Mystere, Fantasie and Chantelle.

Flame furnace cancelled the air conditioner check as the 40 mile an hour moving storms were not conducive to wandering about the yard. They are coming Monday. And Punkin Head will be at work and not see the program. Oh well. Got the permit to redo the shingles on the garage as I finally got the IRS refund. You get lots of money back when you don't work half the year and get canned. They did reject part of Big Daddy's college tho. Guess they really aren't all that serious about re-training and upgrading your education. And that is why Big Daddy is in China.

Teeth update. This year to date; 4 new crowns, 1 filling, 1 extraction (same tooth as filling), 1 surgical stent, 1 implant surgery (to be continued) and 1 rejected spacer. Spacer being remade and will be placed Thursday or Monday. Had to have the bite adjusted again on Tuesday. I am hopeful I don't need to fly home for emergency dental work.

New life: living with cats. Cats are strange. They do not like to be held. They like to be petted but only if you reach across 3 feet. They like to play hard to get.

Dental work is painful

OK, today I can open my mouth. Yesterday was really bad. No meds, I might have to re-think that. But meds screw up the IBS so much I don't know which is worse. Going Monday for the meet and greet with the oral surgeon on the implant. That is next Friday. Cashed in my little account that will partially pay for some of that. Dental work is also extremely expensive. By my take the dentist should be letting me drive that Escalade at least three days a week.

I need another suitcase. It does not help that Big Daddy left some things here. And wants me to bring shit like his new glasses and wild rice. I have started throwing away the daily ratty clothes as I wear them to clean and I am getting picky about taking and saving for fall. Maybe Overstock.com for the suitcase. Oh for Big Daddy's phony luggage about now.

My handyman put up the steel screens to keep the squirrels from nesting in the attic things and he pulled the tail off one, would not let go of the wood interior. Landed on my Jeep and went he got down to pluck it off the Jeep it was gone. Great!!! Now I have a tailess pissed off squirrel waiting for me to leave the house and bite my ankles. This a week after they found a snake in a garage on the first block of Vernier. We are being invaded by wildlife here. With all the unemployment I do not understand why people are not hunting here in the Pointes.

So the weeds are still hanging on, I am now trading books with the dental staff, and I still need underwear. And my Internest is no longer at the "group", just when I need meds and maybe some answers to some medical questions. And I don't think I have time for the female doctor. I wonder how bad the doctors in China really are.

Off to the store tomorrow for maybe some Punkin Head stuff and then more purging.

Oh, and I need 2 light bulbs replaced.
