I toned it down a notch

Out for a walk.

I made a point of taking it down a notch for the job interview this morning. So at least it I don't get this job I can blame it on looking dowdy.

I had 5 references with this guy before he met with me. 4 contacted him and one contacted his boss. It could be overkill and that is not good either.

I am tired of drivel on TV and looking for something better, more entertaining to watch.

Such a quandary

Volunteer tulips, they look pretty good.

Some of you may recall the summer fat clothes blues from last year. Well it is that time of year again and now I have a new and unusual problem. I have to return for a second interview on this job. It is set up for next Tuesday and the Director of Quality is flying into town to meet me. It is also getting quite warm here. Too warm to wear my interview suit unless it snows again. And that could happen but I can't count on it.

I don't want to buy another interview suit for summer in case I get this job. I do not see any reason I would need this summer outfit. I am thinking of buying what I would be wearing on the job, which is similar to what the guys I interviewed with wore, khaki pants and collared or polo type shirts. I would have no use for these clothes unless I got the job-but if I do get it I am going to need these clothes so I do need to figure out where I can buy them. I am on the short side so I have to find fat short sizes.

If I go to Somerset Mall they have the most stores that may carry these clothes plus I could find my Ecco shoes there. If I bought the shoes and did not wear them I could return them if I don't get the job. They are fairly pricey but when you spend your life walking on cement these things matter. You cannot buy replacement feet.

Big Daddy is coming home today and tomorrow we will go shopping. I need him for his pay, tote and carry abilities. It helps to shorten the process because as a rule I hate shopping for work clothes.

Weekly round up

It has been awhile but I believe this is a hyacinth.

Okay this means spring is coming. Maybe a shitty spring, but spring will be here. This is just outside my side door. There are some croci just down the driveway and I am waiting to see who is winning, the cats or the rabbits.

Good News this week:

The stereo is fixed. The cutting out was due to the fact that the soldering had disintegrated. I am amazed soldering in 1985 was so shoddy. Big Daddy should have this working this weekend.

I saw another new number on the scales this morning. Digital scales are the best. Although the actual numbers are meaningless it means I have lost about 7 pounds since I got serious. Also the silly blood work did show my cholesterol improved so I am gleeful.

The job interview went pretty well in my opinion. If I don't get an offer we will know my opinion is worthless. And at that point I doubt I will ever get another opportunity with this recruiter as I told the interviewer that in my opinion both jobs were part time and I could cover both the plants for them. Kinda cutting the recruiter out of a sale, so to speak.

Bad news:

You can blame the return to snow and crappy weather on me, I bought a spring purse today. Snow predicted for this evening, measurable amounts.

Hilarious news:

Big Daddy and I went to dinner last night. We are both out of our funks and it was a busy day. We went up to Bucci at 5 PM when they open. The place was packed and so busy I started wondering if it was New Year's Eve. Well, it was their 14th anniversary and the had rolled back prices to 1999 levels. I know Grosse Pointers are cheap, but swarming the joint at 5 PM on a Thursday is ridiculous.

Maybe Baby

Maybe Baby
Buddy Holly and The Crickets

We got our bloodwork results from the faux lab and wellness people. I am putting this information in the same category as the China physical results. My BMI is high, in the obese range actually, but that does not bother me as she put down my weight with jeans and snow boots and took an inch off my stated height. This place was in the outskirts of the 'hood and I was not about to take my boots off.  For these kinds of tests I would think some accurate measuring should be used. Any measuring would be good.

The results also showed my chloresterol has improved in the month of a better diet but my sugar was a bit high and it has never, ever been high. The only thing I know for sure and I think is the real reason for the test is that Big Daddy has been sneaking cigs. Don't leave town if you don't want me opening the mail.

I am having a job interview conundrum. Waiting to hear about one job and going on an interview tomorrow for a job I don't think I want. So much angst for maybe no job offer at all. We will see.
