My life lately or how boring I am

My favorite sign right by the dog walk in Florida. This one is on I95 south of Jacksonville. Like that chain fence is gonna keep the poisonous snakes in.

So now my life consists of treatment for depression, social media, TV and reading. None of that seems to be doing the trick to happiness.

Reading is not making me happy, the few authors I like do not write more than a book a year. And some of them suck. I am currently trying to slog through a book about the Vanderbilt mansion in Asheville, NC., some crap by a writer of lesser talent about a woman in France with no job married to a con man, and some books on Highly Sensitive People of which I think I am one. So is my son in my opinion. Do not like any of them.

TV is not great, Star Trek's Picard can not carry the entire genre. There are only so many news/political programs you can watch without pulling out your hair. There is the guilty pleasure of one soap opera but that show can take a week to say an entire sentence much less a story. And there only a few people and they are all exes. Yes, everyone sleeps with everyone and it seems often. Kinda sicko. The latest Bachelor should be sent to Survivor and burned at the stake.

However there is one thing that just keeps on giving, FaceBook. There are groups. One group of women are obsessively buying not cheap shoes that do not fit and make their feet smell. They talk about this for hours. They order 600 dollars worth of these shoes at a time and then post pictures asking how these crap fitting shoes look. And not one of them is a leg or foot model. When that gets old you have the people searching for treasure buried 40 years ago from a book with crappy graphics. They are the most fun. You have to read the book and study the picture and figure out where to dig up the cask and the key. And then you post your theory because you cannot figure out how to dig the hole to find the cask and the key. And then everyone tells you you are wrong. This has been going on for 40 years.

There was one FB group about Southern Manners but it got so nasty they had to shut it down.

Well, it's Friday night and Big Daddy is gonna surprise me with dinner. IF there is food at the store, he can make it home through the lines of tanks keeping us safe (joking) and we still have gas and electric. Cos if no one works we have no goods and services. Anybody think about this shit.

Employment package came in the mail

Fed Ex was here at 10 AM on the dot and Big Daddy has his package. He is going to pee at 2 this afternoon. After work he is going to the car dealer to make arrangements for a car.

Punkin Head has snagged a great job interview for a well known college in a few days, he graduates Friday and his cat is recovering from the dental surgery.

After being off reading for a while I am back into devouring entire books at a setting. Just dime store pulp but it is so odd to know that when I get a car I can go buy a book anytime. One the books was a nice read, Patrick Taylor wrote An Irish Country Village. It appears to be the middle of 3 books and I will try to find the others, it is about country doctors back in the day.

I wish it would warm up here, not pleasant to go outside for fun.

Shocking news

This may shock some of my readers, okay one of you 2, but I do not like change, adventure, or groups of people.

Well the French ass-hat casually informed Big Daddy that he is no longer working weekends as the company from hell will no longer pay him for overtime. We, thanks to this arrogant cretin, are stuck in Ning Hai as there is no way out at the last minute.

I decided that instead of pouting I would plan a little trip. I was sober and drug free when I did this. Saturday afternoon we are being driven by someone, perhaps the hotel driver or his cousin, that does not speak any English, to Qiantong Ancient Town. It is very old and good to take pictures, per the hotel manager. It will cost 500 kwai for the ride. When we arrive we will buy tickets and go on a walking tour. We have to pay for the drivers ticket, 3 tickets for 40 kwai each. The driver will show us the good stuff.

The manager also told me that everyone is the hotel really likes me and I am very popular.  Now this scares the piss out of me. I have never been popular with the mainstream.

We have started a new trend, when we finish books here we leave them with the staff. I told Daisy I had another book for her this morning and she mis-understood, she thought I wanted the old books back. Well, as it turns out the entire staff reads the books, passing them about and enjoying being able to read in English. The guys are reading chick lit. Most of the better books find a home in Shanghai. Well, that is gonna change, the guy who picked us up also reads so more books and the DVD's we have watched are now going to Ning Hai. Once in a great while you do get to see how you may have touched another person's life.

Off to Amazon for more books, biggest extravagance here.
