We call her Curly now
As you can see I do not have any pics worth putting on the blog.
Punkin Head is shopping for a birthday bike, he asked everyone who loves him enough to give him money to contribute to a new bike. He will be using it for transportation and sport so I thought it was a good idea. He is also packing up as they will move at the end of the month.
I bought Curly, that is my granddaughter, a book. It is hard to not spend money on this dear child not even born yet. There is just too much cute stuff. But a book, books are always a good idea.
PH was telling, and don't ask how we got on this subject, they have a once a year wiener dog race at the horse track in Portland. I thought he was bullshitting me, but when I Google wiener dog racing it seems it is very popular. I would think it would take days for those short little legs to get them anywhere much less around a track.
We went shopping Saturday after my pedicure and I hit a great sale at Chico's. Cotton summer pants for 19.99 that I can wear to work. It is hard to find summer work pants as I cannot wear capris and I need something that is not super casual. And I found 2 other pair I got for buy one get one half off. And I can wear them on vacation before wearing them out at the plant.
Kind of boring right now but only a week and a half til vacation. And 7 working days. I can do that.

Red Tail Hawks
At the right side top of the bench is a hawk. Our new resident hawk. Big Daddy says he is hanging out on our patio because it is lush. He is hanging out now for about 3 days. He shits a lot.
Sammy The Spanky Dog got his spa day Saturday and I am wondering if the hawk is eyeballing Sammy.
BD says it is a Red Tail Hawk. We will try to get better pictures.
I am on vacation now and should have more interesting photos and conversation for a few weeks.

I have caught another cold
I was amazed at how I could have caught another cold. Then today I had that aha moment. I watched the ayi empty the trash can overflowing with used tissues and noticed she had no gloves on. And then waited to see her wash her hands, which never happened. Then I remembered, these people do not wash their hands very often, if ever. My cleaning lady at home wore gloves. Yes, disposable gloves. Need to buy more bleach.
Which brings me to another issue that bugs me. Flight attendants that wear gloves to pick up the trash but do not wear gloves to hand me food and drink. As it is all about me, all the time, shouldn't they wear gloves to hand me consumables? As they never touch the trash and always touch the food and drink I am confused. They hold that bag as far away from themselves as possible and if you miss, oh well, it is gonna stay on the filthy carpet for the duration of the flight.
Big Daddy had another job interview last night, 11PM China time, and these people have won the prize for unattainable candidate. They want someone that is a tooling expert, a manufacturing expert, an engineering manager, a purchasing agent, and someone to set up a department to develop patents for the company. And manage over 100 people. They are firing the current guy because he is a tooling expert and cannot handle the additional responsibilities. So we know one other guy that is competing with BD for a job, that guy has to know they are shopping his job.
We now have reservations for New Orleans. It is a miracle. I think BD is so bogged down in bullshit he is losing his edge in personal lifestyle management. Or I made him brain dead with chanting bigger, bigger. He had an epiphany and called the bar at the hotel and asked to be switched to the reservations manager. Bingo, we have the room we wanted. Not at the old hotel, the second hotel, which is becoming the better hotel. I will post on this if we ever get there. Still waiting for HR sign-off and travel bitch to fuck up the tickets home. Oh, the HR guy that would have signed off and that worked with the expats has disappeared. No one is talking. Hmmm. The stories I could tell.

I Need To Make A List
Ok, I am starting to get used to this foreign country thing and from here on will call it FC. Waiting for info on the plane tickets so I can track the flight and aircraft as I am a total freak on flying right now. Punkin Head will try to come home before Big Daddy leaves and again in October for a wedding.
That will leave me with November alone and hopefully a visit to FC in December. This will be dependent on my money and my vacation time. I have asked for and not received the plan for everyone to take vacation this year,oh and don't forget those promised floating holidays. When you never work it is hard to take vacation. And with everyone forced to take an additional lay-off in August to save money for the company this is becoming an issue. The lay-offs have not been balanced and the rest of the year is going to be pretty unpredictable. What if the whole company is on vacation for the month of December. Ha. And if HR ever comes back to work I have to go on the company insurance.
Of course, more important, is their will be no New Orleans Christmas visit. Big Daddy won't be on the job long enough for "rest time" and FC does not recognize Christmas. So I will be learning a new tradition of no Christmas this year. Or Creme Brulee. Or Cherries Jubilee. I just hope I don't have to eat a poodle.
