Snippets

I met a woman in the Ladies restroom Monday morning. It was her first day and she was nervous and overwhelmed. I told her it would be fine, assembly plants are overwhelming at first-so large and so much activity and so many people. I found her again at lunchtime and asked her how it was going. She was okay and she told me when she received her badge to the plant she cried she was so happy. She had to take tests, written tests besides the drug tests and felt this was a real achievement. All this for a temporary vacation relief position. Guess it is still pretty bad out there for some of us.

Talked to a guy this week that had been having problems with my parts to give him an update. I told him every time I came to talk to him last week he was out. Yea, he told me he has cancer and had to go in for his chemo. Working the line 10 hours a day with cancer and chemo, this guy has my admiration and respect.

I finished a bit more of the gardening, along with Big Daddy and The Help. I want it mostly finished except for perennials I want to get on sale this fall-By the fourth of July. We will see.

Today I had water leaks, parts not installed properly, and no information on the "missing stock". Tomorrow I have to get information to set up a sort on potential suspect stock, get some paperwork signed off and find time to read a few chapters on my Kindle App for the Samsung Tablet. Tablet is somewhat dicey, but it is great when it works. And I can get my email from work and personal on my phone now. Life is Good, and I hate LG.

Funny of the day:

Missing Stock story. One of my plants emailed me to ask if I knew why the customer had shipped all the launch parts back to them. I figured this was a mistake, replied and asked a few question and went to speak with MP&L, that is the materials people. They of course did not believe me and pooh poohed any mention that they had shipped these parts back to us. Until they checked the records and my pictures. Someone is gonna get in big trouble on this one. Hilarious.

Howdy folks

Big Daddy got this orchid at Trader Joe's for 15 bucks in a real clay pot. I am thinking it is a mis-marked delight for us.

I hate to say this but I think I may only be able to blog once a week for a while. I am so damn busy and tired that I can't even put the toothpaste away everyday. The upside is they pay me O/T over 40 hours and that is some sweet money.

I am in the process of hiring someone today to clean and do the gardening, we have no time for this work. I have convinced Big Daddy we need help, and while I have to work to keep my sanity . . that means there is extra money to pay for help.

Work is hilarious right now, busy as hell but stupid as always. I have a sort company that thinks I am supposed to bend to their will and they are also so stupid they can't find the address and phone numbers they need to start the sorts. I almost want to ask them if they realize they are the stupidest fucks in the plant.

I had a conference call Friday late afternoon to discuss why this one plant is so fucked up they can't ship a good part. The customer tells me this has gone on for 9 years and the Responsible Person For Our Company on the call said this is all my fault. I was officially in charge the past Monday. Do you see why I pee my pants laughing? This bitch wants better communication from me and actually "made fun" of something I said on the call. Game on. Like I told my boss, who was also on the call, I can help you or I can watch you fall on your ass. I can also send you shit every day with special made overnight containers for 8AM delivery. Can't wait till your controller gets the bills.

I have this new hair stuff that you brush on your roots in-between touch-ups to hide the gray. It is great, it is like eye shadow for the hair. I almost made myself cry laughing at one review that stated the product did not last after shampoo, how stupid is that woman.

Dinner today is BBQ shrimp, cole slaw, baked beans and a fabulous veggie.

I got a mani-pedi and need to relax and get some shit together for Monday.

And the Wicked Witch is coming to visit on Tuesday, that gives me all day Monday to make her life hell.

Freedom

We are now Ford people. This is my new ride.

It is almost impossible to drive any non-union car in Detroit. It just makes life difficult. I drove Saabs for years and I did take some guff and damage but it was worth it to drive down Lakeshore with the top down. Now we are Ford people as they did not get caught up in that financial mess, no Government Motors or Tony's Transportation for us. And it has heated seats. I loved my Ford Edge but at 19 MPG and gasoline out of control I can't take that bet again. I would not be surprised if they start rationing gas again.

I went to the hairdresser yesterday and was told I was too blond. I did not think that was possible.

Punkin Head came for dinner, his request was burgers and spinach. I taught Big Daddy how to do a mean sauteed spinach and it cracks me up that Punkin Head loves it. He was the pickiest eater as a child and hated both of those items.

Just a few weeks and Eastern Market has the crazy flower sales, y'all will love pictures of that place, every Saturday it is a madhouse and BD likes to get there a 6 AM to get a parking space. So I better get busy outside. And we have to find the pull cart and radio flyer and clean them up.
