It would scare the heck out of me for someone/government to demand my passport and then not give it back immediately. I would be high-tailing it to the nearest American embassy/consulate, but that's just because I'm a naive and scaredy-cat traveler.

BD - You know best. This is why fate has seen to it that I travel no more than 300 miles from the place of my birth. Once upon a time, I was a good traveler, but not anymore.
